Print Narrative, Interactivity, and Collaboration

Stories are a way to share ideas and create meaning. Today, the intellectual involvement with content is often mediated by physical engagement with the narrative artifact, sometimes the printed pages of a book, sometimes the pixilated screen of a personal computer. There is a difference between engaging with a story through a material artifact as we do today, and engaging with it orally, as was done for millennia before written stories became common. This difference is our starting point for discussing interactivity and collaboration in narrative as it has evolved since the first days of the codex.
