Abstract
The main physics signal for ICAL at INO consists of the \(\nu _\mu \)CC events. In addition, ICAL can also detect other types of neutrino interactions, i.e. the neutral current and the electron neutrino charged current interactions. An approximate calibration can be made of the energy of the incident neutrinos in such “muonless” events. The direction (\(\cos \theta \)) of these neutrinos can be roughly estimated too. Also, one can obtain a neutrino data sample containing mostly \(\nu _e\)CC events, by applying appropriate selection criteria on the events recorded.
