Abstract

Incomplete intravascular injection due to extravasation can result in lymphatic clearance with deposition in regional lymph nodes, usually axillary. Verifying extravasation is important so as to not incorrectly attribute visualization of one or more lymph nodes to underlying pathology. Otherwise, “hot” lymph nodes could signify malignancy or active granulomatous disease.
