Abstract

In this paper we present a novel hybrid approach to improve the complex process of planning and budgeting (P&B). Especially in the field of fuzzy P&B a lot of expert knowledge is needed to find an appropriate solution for planning problems. To support decision makers we consider a combination of a fuzzy P&B tool with a case-based reasoning (CBR) system. The novel hybrid approach will be presented, and it will be analysed in which way decision making and learning processes can be improved. Due to the promising results, we also discuss possible extensions to automate P&B processes completely.
