Abstract
Lifestyle medicine plays an important role in the prevention and management of chronic pulmonary disease. Presently, medical treatment options available for chronic pulmonary diseases can improve respiratory symptoms and quality of life, but scientific evidence shows that attention to lifestyle medicine issues can further enhance the benefit of these therapies. This chapter will focus on four specific chronic pulmonary diseases: cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and interstitial lung disease. Relevant lifestyle interventions that can significantly improve quality of life in patients with these diseases are discussed.
