Abstract

Several types of intraocular lenses (IOLs) are available for implantation following cataract surgery. Following Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS) procedure, where a wider incision is made, it is rational to use a cost-effective rigid IOL. Considering the other advantages of foldable IOLs apart from it foldability, these lenses can also be used in this procedure, if cost is not a limiting factor. This chapter will describe the different types of IOLs and describe the technique for insertion of the IOL and removal of viscoelastic solution.
