Abstract
Mankind is on the threshold of yet another paradigm shift in its conception of the universe. Are there other planets like our Earth, and if so, is there life on such planets, even intelligent life? Speculation regarding planets around other suns are not new. But until 1995 no real evidence was available. With the discovery of the first exoplanet an avalanche of further discoveries was initiated. This was made possible by the rapid advance using new technology. The question “How do you find an exoplanet?” now has many answers.
