Abstract
The essential component of all control and sensory systems is a communication layer. The MODBUS protocol is used mainly in automation and sensory industries and defines a simple format of communication with the master/slave principle. uBUS protocol derived from MODBUS brings advanced features for today’s industrial requirements. The implementation of secure transmission among nodes on the bus is a part of the protocol and can be prohibited or enforced. As an encryption method was chosen RSA asymmetric encryption and the encryption strength is given by the size of its keys (32 - 1024 bit).
