Abstract
The McCash technique, also known as the open palm technique or open transverse palmar fasciectomy technique, was first described in 1964 by McCash. The aim is to provide the surgeon with a direct view of the pathology for easier excision. By leaving the wound open, complications, such as hematoma formation and skin necrosis resulting from suturing skin under tension, are avoided. While there is no accepted treatment for Dupuytren’s disease, the McCash technique has few complications.
