    William Osler (1849–1919), a Canadian physician, was one of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Osler created the first speciality training program for physicians and was the first to provide bedside clinical training. He has been described as the “Father of Modern Medicine”.
