Abstract
This chapter presents the essential information for diagnosis of common congenital malformations of the heart. Subsequent sections present acquired and genetic cardiovascular diseases encountered in a busy clinical practice. These entities are presented in a concise manner. Diseases diagnosed as autopsy as well as surgical pathology specimens are discussed. Thorough examples of gross and microscopic features useful in differential diagnosis of primary myocardial diseases, valvular diseases, pericardial diseases, common benign and malignant cardiovascular tumors, and vascular diseases are presented.
