Abstract
Constellations are an important part of many of many cultures. Astronomers have adopted the Greek constellations to provide a regional map into which to located objects. Before the first telescope astronomers have been classified and catalogued objects, so that there know are in access of 200 such catalogues. These knowing, which catalogue appropriate to the task at hand is an important tool in observational astronomy.
