Abstract

This paper proposes a configuration changement method for the generation of the compliant units as compliant configuration building block. With the FEM analysis of the compliant properties, the compliant characteristics are set up. This compliant building block configuration generation approach presumes that the reconfigurable compliant structure or compliant mechanisms can be generated or evolved from these basic compliant units and the unit re-combinations. The compliant configuration generation is a challenging task that requires familiarity with overall compliant behavior and available building block configurations that may meet the requirement of subsystems. This approach can provide intuitive insight on how to compose a compliant problem and address it with multiple geometric constraint solutions.
