Abstract

In Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), energy efficient routing in the hybrid domain based on residual energy provides many benefits. The energy efficient routing approach based on load balancing method can spread out data traffic and is still free from being overburdened of nodes. This can be done through creating many alternatives for efficient utilization of available resources. It keeps the network alive and attempts to maximize the network lifetime. The hybrid routing approach is a combination of the good features of reactive and proactive routing approaches in the MANET. An energy efficient routing protocol is proposed to fruitfully accomplish various challenges. Reliable Zone Routing Protocol (RZRP) is one such example. It is designed to minimize energy consumption in proactive routing and mobility prediction in reactive routing approach. RZRP has the ability to discharge the basic requirements for an efficient energy consumption technique. It is reliable and can increase the network lifetime of MANET. The results are analyzed and compared with Zone Routing Protocol (ZRP).
