Abstract
In this paper, a new and innovative method to compress a digital image is proposed. This method first explores Chrestenson transform, then proposes p-adic process concept, and finally comes out with a practical way to form the p-adic process using real data, i.e., the digital image in this paper. It is first proved in [2] that Chrestenson transform of p-adic process is equivalent to K-L transform. We proposes a new method to generate the p-adic process from image data by extrapolating the data in a specific way. The result is verified and proved by initial simulations, and our method is shown to outperform the usual DCT transform.
