Abstract
There are only few cases in which it is possible to exactly determine eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Hamiltonian and, unfortunately, just in the most interesting cases (atoms with more than one electron, atoms in presence of an external either electric or magnetic field etc.) the Hamiltonian is so complicated that there is no hope to find the exact solution of the eigenvalue problem.
