Abstract

Given the importance angular momentum has in classical physics, it will be no surprise to ascertain the fundamental role it also plays in quantum mechanics. This is mainly due to the fact that, in many cases of physical interest (isolated systems, particles in a central force field, etc.), the components of angular momentum are constants of motion.
