The thermal energy \(\sim k_{B}T\) introduces a new energy scale into field theories. In thermal field theories, a specific series of Feynman diagrams of increasing loop order can be found that reveals the presence of increasing powers of the ratio \(k_{B}T/mc^{2}\) in the self-energy, dangerous at high temperature in the infrared domain (T ≫ m).
