A Case of a Large, Invasive PTC with Gross Residual Disease (pT4) After Surgery

  • Chapter
Thyroid Cancer

Abstract

Residual, unresectable disease following thyroidectomy for differentiated thyroid cancer is an uncommon but challenging situation. This chapter reviews the role of external beam radiotherapy in addition to radioactive iodine and, in these cases, specifically the evidence for external beam radiotherapy and the controversy around radiotherapy volume and dose.
