Abstract

Initially developed for intracranial targets, stereotactic radiation for the central nervous system has evolved immensely over the past 65 years. Here we discuss the rational, technique, and outcomes of stereotactic radiosurgery for a diverse range of intracranial targets, ranging from noncancerous entities such as arteriovenous malformations to primary and metastatic brain malignancies.
