Abstract

In the first chapter of the book, the regulations, the directives, and the standards regarding the energy and the indoor environment of buildings are presented and analyzed. The book focuses on the analysis of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the recast of it, as well as the implementation of the Directive in the EU countries.

This chapter is supported by Triantafyllia Nikolaou, Dionysia Kolokotsa, George Stavrakakis, Apostolos Apostolou and Corneliu Munteanu.
