Abstract
A 33-year-old woman who denied past medical history was brought to the trauma bay by ambulance with left leg pain after being struck while on her bicycle by an automobile. She had deep wounds on her left posterior calf and medial ankle. She was neurovascularly intact (motor and sensory) to the left distal extremity with minimal-to-moderate swelling and soft compartments to palpation. Radiographs demonstrated left distal tibial shaft and tibial plateau fractures. The only other injury was a superficial abrasion to her chin. She was cooperative with the exam and hemodynamically stable. No other major injuries were identified.
