Abstract
Radiology presents many options for the workup of groin pain, and knowing which is most likely to be effective is important to patients and primary care providers. This chapter discusses some of the most common causes of groin pain and their pathognomic imaging findings. Occult inguinal hernias are paid special attention, given the difficulties involved in their detection. Basic modality-specific information about the image generation process, radiation doses, and the use of intravenous contrast materials is also included in order to further appropriate imaging and facilitate conversations between ordering physicians and their patients.
