Abstract

At present there is a visible paradigm shift from the traditional learning environment to the technology-enhanced learning environment, which is understood as smart learning environment. This new smart learning environment is distinguished by context-awareness, mobility, seamlessness or adaptability; the factors which, among others, have an enormous impact on the development and use of learning materials. Thus, the purpose of this article is to discuss what study materials students prefer in this smart learning environment. This is done by comparison of two surveys performed at the Faculty of Informatics and Management in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, in the course of two periods in order to examine whether there has been any radical shift in students’ preferences for the use of a particular form of the learning materials or not.
