Abstract

The one-dimensional body shall have a surface at x = 0. This surface is physically described by a step of the potential energy U S. As Tamm has shown, electrons can be localized at the surface of the body. The energies E and the attenuation lengths δ for the two resulting Tamm’s electronic surface states have been calculated.
