Abstract
In this chapter, for each model component used to create a model in the next chapters (vehicle, engine, brakes, CVT, etc.), the properties and options are presented and detailed discussed: the user-defined variables, all influencing factors, the necessary inputs and outputs, and most importantly the equations that govern the calculations.
The theory that is presented in this chapter represents the mathematical models developed by AVL CRUISE team and points out the characteristic of each vehicle component used in the models created in the following chapters.
