Abstract

Cloud computing has been designed and implemented to create a large scalable computing infrastructure that offers service-oriented solutions for individuals and organizations. The current research activities have focused on the implementation of the cloud infrastructure, while a little attention has been directed towards introducing innovative solutions for cloud management. This paper introduces the integration of cloud computing and the Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) as a complementary parts to create an Agent-based Cloud Computing where agents can manage and configure the cloud resources and services in an autonomous and intelligent way to provide a higher degree of flexibility and interoperability for both cloud providers and consumers.
