Abstract
Harmony has two versions, optimal and suboptimal. Aversion toward symmetry breakdown and lack of cognitive complexity are identified as two contributing factors to suboptimal harmony. The main thrust of my analysis is on identifying the basic structure of optimal harmony, and the cognitive styles and associated strategies that serve the purposes of optimal harmony, ranging from aesthetics to self-cultivation.
