Abstract
Diabetic neuropathy is estimated to affect at least half of all diabetics. When infection is not present, non-operative and operative interventions can keep patients with neuropathic feet safe from limb or life threatening developments. Preventative measures such as regular foot checks, accommodative inserts, and custom fitted shoe gear are all implemented. For uncomplicated, non-infected ulcers, in office wound debridements and offloading measures are undertaken. When wounds arise, NPWT, skin grafts, and skin flaps have proven to be effective modalities. Surgical management of the neuropathic foot is complex and should be guided by appropriate patient selection.
