Abstract

Light possesses several categories of stimulus important for the perception of the world. In addition to spatial and temporal dimensions, it also has qualities of wavelength and intensity, the latter being measured in the number of photons per time unit. Further categories include color (itself merely an abstraction of wavelength), contour (derived from contrasts), form, movement, and spatial depth.
