The purpose of this paper was to investigate the consumerism movement in the U.S. and abroad. Considering the volumes which have been written on this subject, the diverse areas which have been permeated by it, and the multitude of impacts on society which have resulted, therefore, it was necessary to make some definition of the specific directions which would be posited in this paper.
