Abstract
Sleep duration, timing of meals, right balance of protein and carbohydrates in every meal, and breakfast every day are all important signals which make the difference for the metabolic management of a healthy pregnancy. The knowledge of molecular messengers like melatonin, FSP27, and the right microbiota could allow improved pregnancy outcome. Prospective interventional trials should consider these physiological aspects that truly impact on metabolism and inflammation
