Laser Absorption Diagnostics for Aldehydes in Shock Tube Kinetics Studies

  • Conference paper
29th International Symposium on Shock Waves 1 (ISSW 2013)

Included in the following conference series:

Abstract

Aldehydes are important intermediate products in the oxidation of hydrocarbons, and benchmark species in engine testing. Sensitive and accurate diagnostics for aldehydes are needed to advance combustion kinetics studies and engine design. So far, common methods to measure aldehydes in low-temperature kinetic experiments have emphasized mass spectroscopy (MS) and gas chromatography (GC).
