Abstract

This chapter presents the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies for the most prevalent ocular surface disease worldwide, meibomian gland dysfunction. It is the most common etiologic/contributing factor in dry eye disease. This chapter specifically highlights the use of meibomian gland imaging technologies, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory therapies, and more advanced treatment options including meibomian gland expression and intense pulsed light.
