Abstract
This chapter presents a case of a patient with comorbid alcohol use disorder and paranoid personality disorder. The case was described according to its 4-year medical follow-up in a psychiatric private practice in the Northeast of Brazil. Mindfulness as part of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and basic principles of motivational interviewing were the main psychosocial therapeutic interventions used. The author also reports his views on the patient’s progress and change in his behavior.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye —Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
