Abstract

Although Cognitive Radio Technologies Have Been Proposed and Studied for many Years, the Implementation of Cognitive Radio Technologies in Cellular Networks Still Faces many Challenges. In Terms of the Performance of Cellular Networks Enabled by Cognitive Radio Abilities, New Technologies Should Be Designed and Deployed to Enable the Cellular Networks, Such as the TD-LTE Cellular Network, with Cognitive Radio Abilities. Therefore, to Obtain the Global Radio Environment Information, the Accurate Spectrum Information Awareness Technology Should Be Designed, which Can Improve the Efficient Dynamic Spectrum Access and Utilization in Cognitive Radio Enabled Cellular Networks. Furthermore, to Guarantee the Qos for Users in Cellular Networks with Specific Delay Constraints, the Spectrum Handover Technology is a Big Challenge in Terms of the Packet Loss and Service Drop Rate. Therefore, Challenges on How to Apply Cognitive Radio Technologies in TD-LTE Cellular Networks Are Analyzed in this Chapter. Then, Key Technical Solutions Are Proposed Accordingly with Simulations and Field Results Unveiled Below.
