Abstract
For centuries, hair has taken a protection role on the human body. It protects us from dirt and dust and from cold weather. Nowadays, it is also a decorative accessory in fashion style. People go through several beauty procedures such as haircuts, hairstyles and waxes in order to find their own style. Fake hair has become popular in both, women and men, to cover for baldness and visually improve our looks. Thus, a variety of this fake hair such as wigs, hair extensions, eyelashes, moustache and beards are hot merchandises at the marketplace. This chapter describes the materials and the processes used to transform fake eyelashes and hair extensions into conductive materials. They are chemically metalized to maintain a natural coloration and when connected to a microcontroller could be used as both, input and output devices. Blinklifier, Superhero and Arcana are presented as proof of concept for a muscle based interface object controller.
