Abstract
The clock in my office reads 5:15 pm and I start to pack my messenger bag with the work I want to take home. A truly productive day has come to an end and I will be glad to head home for some good down time. Since rain has been present most of the day, I decided to drive rather than walk to work today. After a day of teaching, writing, and thinking about research, my mind is temporarily drained of any real deep conscious thought. I feel as if my mind is on autopilot as I shut my office down and head down the hall to the stairwell. Step after step, I am guided toward the doors, then the stairs, and then the parking lot with my car as if drawn by some invisible force. As I reach my car, I plop my bag down in the passenger seat and start the engine. Putting the car into reverse, I back the car out of the parking spot and begin my journey home.
