Abstract

This final chapter highlights the key learnings from this book, particularly around urban developmentā€™s potential to reduce emissions, and the importance of acknowledging the role of urban development in global decarbonisation. Recommendations on how this research can help to inform policy are presented, particularly around issues of implementation of a certification scheme for urban development. Ideas for future work are identified, which include how cities can be further engaged and encouraged to design and construct low-carbon developments.
