Abstract
This chapter examines the state of Holocaust education in the Nordic countries (Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden). This part of the world is known, amongst other things, for the Declaration of the Stockholm International Forum on the Holocaust. After first reviewing the links between each of these countries and the Holocaust, the chapter also presents formal and informal educational initiatives in relation to the Holocaust in each of the countries. It concludes with a discussion on the necessity to adjust to the wider narratives surrounding World War II in Nordic education and to develop further teaching and research on the topic.
