Abstract
Fenestrated and branched endografts require placement of alignment stents to optimize branch vessel perfusion and aneurysm seal. Covered stents are preferred because of its resistance to intimal hyperplasia, superior patency rates, and need to seal the fenestration or branch in order to avoid endoleak. Because technology is evolving, it is likely that more stents will become available in the near future. The ideal stent should be low profile and should have high radial force at the attachment and flexibility at the distal end. Often, more than one stent is combined to achieve all these characteristics. This chapter summarizes the available bridging stents and its characteristics and clinical application.
