Abstract

The fundamental steps of the procedure called posterior sagittal anorectoplasty are described in this particular chapter. Rectourethral bulbar fistula in males is the most common malformation seen in male patients. It has generally a good functional prognosis, and therefore, this chapter includes the most detailed and graphic description of the key steps of the posterior sagittal surgical technique. The chapter is illustrated with artistic renditions as well as intraoperative photographs and animations to facilitate the understanding of this procedure.
