Abstract
Cartilage injuries are common among athletes and cause them to stop or temporary leave their sports activities. Cartilage injuries are known to be difficult to treat, and the healing and rehab time is long. In this chapter basic information is presented about cartilage, cartilage injuries and how to diagnose the injuries followed by guidelines for cartilage injury treatment with special reference to athletes’ situation.
