Abstract
The main title of this book refers to the concept of Enterprise Governance of IT, a concept that addresses the definition and implementation of processes, structures, and relational mechanism that enable both business and IT people to execute their responsibilities in support of business/IT alignment and the creation of value from IT-enabled business investments. The subtitle of the book also introduces two other important concepts, namely business/IT alignment and IT-enabled value. In this introductory chapter, these three core constructs are defined and connected to each other and placed in the context of the digitized organization. Each of these concepts will then be further developed in the following chapters.
