Cast immobilization:
-
○ Proximal pole: immobilization in LATSC for approximately 16–20 weeks.

○ Central portion: immobilization in LATSC for approximately 3 months.

○ Distal portion: immobilization in LATSC for approximately 6–8 weeks.
Following Immobilization
-
AROM exercises are initiated to the forearm, wrist, and thumb 6–8 times a day following the prolonged immobilization.

A wrist and thumb static splint is fitted with the wrist in neutral to be worn between exercise sessions and at night.
-
PROM exercises, dynamic wrist splinting, and strengthening exercises may be initiated once the fracture is radiographically or clinically healed as determined by the surgeon.
