Remove stitches and exchange splint (we prefer thumb spica).

PROM and AROM to fingers.
4–8 Weeks

Slow and gentle PROM and AROM to wrist.

Edema control.

Scar desensitization.

Splint to be used around the clock except at night or during bathing or exercises.
8–16 Weeks

Discontinue splint.

Progress AROM.
-
Begin strengthening once fusion indicated by MD.
Discharge Criteria
-
Patient will be independent in dressing, hygiene, and eating progressing to light household activities.
