Abstract
Treaty relating to methods of observation to distinguish the various species of snakes, with particular reference to the differences between vipers and colubrids, not only from the morphological point of view but also their look. The chapter concludes with a contribution by F. Andreone that looks at the importance of herpetology collections in natural history museums, which are essential tools for the study of fauna.
In the fields of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind.
