Abstract

Tympanic membrane retraction pocket continues to suffer from a lack of consensus among otologists. Since the 1990s and until recently, the literature did not offer enough new studies to deal with the lack of this consensus. Most of the works presented many classifications and the pocket was approached by a reinforcement and repair of the eardrum lesion and its sequelae, as if it was originally a TM disease per se.
