Abstract
The fundamental basis for Medical Dosimetry is physics. To be a successful dosimetrist, one must master an understanding of basic physics concepts. The first chapter of this review book covers basic physics concepts such as atomic and nuclear structure, radioactivity, production and interactions of X-rays, radiation units and basic questions regarding treatment machines. It is very important to understand all of these topics before moving forward in this book as all other more advanced concepts stem from these.
