Acknowledgments
The final chapter of this book resulted from a two-day workshop held on 10-12 May 2014 and funded under an EU Framework 7 program, ProHearing:Hearing Health Science Europe, in which many of the authors discussed the research challenges of the field, the hurdles to a better understanding of the basic role of free radicals in ENT pathology, and the obstacles to translation of our basic knowledge to effective interventions to treat ENT pathology. We first defined the overarching challenges to the prevention and treatment of ENT pathology. We then identified Targets of Opportunity.
